Sean and I were married in January of 2003, but it wasn't until March that we had our honeymoon. (This is because we were originally going to be married in March.
Long story.)
We went to Japan, landing in Narita on March 6 and staying there overnight at the Narita U-City Hotel. On March 7 we headed out to Kyoto by shinkansen to stay at Heianbo Ryokan for three nights. We spent two days exploring Kyoto and took a day trip to Nara. On March 11 we stopped in Himeji on our way to Miyajima, where we stayed in Momijiso Ryokan for two nights. We spent the intervening day in Hiroshima, and on March 13 we headed for Yamanaka Ryokan in Ueno, Tokyo. We stayed there for 4 nights, finally leaving Japan on March 17. We'd planned to take a day trip to Nikko while we were in Tokyo, but we ran out of energy and spent that day watching Japanese TV in the ryokan and goofing off in an Internet cafe.
[Note: These are the 52 pictures from our honeymoon that I had uploaded to photoworks.com to have prints made, back before I knew about smugmug. The rest of my honeymoon photos were on my hard drive in the apartment, and as such were destroyed in the
fire. Because I don't have my notes, I'm not actually sure on which days everything happened, so the captions are from memory.]
