Heather Meadows > View of Augusta Water Works from next to the train tracks. The pit where the construction workers were is right at the bottom of the hill. You can also see that there is a huge pipe running along the construction wall.

Heather Meadows > Another view of the construction site at Augusta Water Works. That blue pipe to the left is a bridge over the canal that leads to a parking lot. This part of the trail is approximately 15 minutes from the Savannah Rapids Pavillion by bike. (I averaged 14 mph this day.)

Heather Meadows > I could always go straight ahead, across the tracks, past the other bridge across the canal, through the gate, and on towards downtown Augusta.

Heather Meadows > I decided to go into the forest trail. I understand that in biker's lingo, this is called a "singletrack".
