On October 22, 2005, Brooke and I attended the Summerville Tour of Homes. Every year, residents of Summerville, an "upscale" section of Augusta that contains some of the city's finest historic homes, open their doors to the public. Different homes are showcased each year. The tour is a fundraising effort for the Summerville Neighborhood Association, and it's rather expensive; fortunately, I won free tickets from WJBF.
2341 McDowell Street, home of Whitney Pickett. Ms. Pickett is a direct descendant of a signer of the Declaration of Independence. She is also a master equestrian. Her house is filled with beautiful and fascinating historical artifacts. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take pictures inside any of the houses. Summerville Tour of Homes 2005, Augusta, Georgia
